Full Description

This GRAF Rainwater Harvesting Tank uses a header tank to control the water supply to indoor appliances and to the outdoor tap. It is expected that the UK will have water shortages in the future, which makes rainwater harvesting more crucial now than ever before.

This tank is quick and simple to assemble, as it comes in two parts which are easy to secure together. The Carat XL Indirect range provides a cost-effective solution, and has an extra large storage capacity. Rainwater is sent to a header tank which is situated within the loft space of a property, which then feeds the rainwater via gravity to WCs, the washing machine and to the outdoor tap. If there is an insufficient amount of rainwater in the tank, the dual value will switch to use the mains water back up to allow for a constant supply of water. The tank prioritises rainwater, meaning you'll make the most out of your rainwater supply all year round.

Applications:
- Watering outdoor plants
- Pressure washing
- Sprinkler systems
- WCs
- Washing laundry

In terms of quality of water, rainwater is the superior choice for washing clothes, as it is soft as opposed to hard mains supply water. Soft rainwater has many benefits as it will not cause as much of a limescale build up in the washing machine, which therefore takes better care of your clothes and extends the lifespan of your appliance.

The Carat XL Indirect tank is available to purchase with a pedestrian loading lid which is suitable for garden installation, or vehicle loading which is suitable for a driveway or areas with vehicle use. This means you can install your tank where it is convenient.

What are the benefits of harvesting rainwater?
1. Harvesting rainwater conserves water which helps to lower the demand for water from the mains network.

2. Collecting and using rainwater can be a cost-effective alternative to mains water supply. It will lower your water bill, as rainwater is a free natural resource.

3. Rainwater harvesting is a better practice for the environment as it helps to reduce water pollution, soil erosion, and flooding.

4. Harvested rainwater with an Indirect tank can be used for a wide range of indoor and outdoor purposes, making it a` worthy investment.

5. Harvesting rainwater can help communities to become more resilient in the face of climate change, droughts, and water scarcity.
