Great news for farmers, woodland owners, foresters and land managers looking for financial support for environmental projects. Defra has just revealed it‘s now offering a bigger range of capital items under its Countryside Stewardship Scheme and some of these items we can help with.
Our products are covered by the scheme
As part of this scheme, you can now benefit from financial support for some of the products and services we offer. These include projects to install:
These include:
- rainwater harvesting equipment
- watercourse crossings
- cross drains
- membrane for sediment ponds and lined bio-beds
- underground drainage pipework for yards
- storage tanks underground
- above ground tanks
- low ammonia emission flooring for livestock buildings and concrete yard renewals
Value of the grant significantly increased
The value of the grant has also risen significantly from last year. Under the standalone scheme option, you can now apply for up to £20,000 to fund work on boundaries, trees and orchards, another £20,000 to pay for water capital works and an additional £20,000 for air quality projects. In theory, you could benefit from £60,000 worth of funding.
If you are interested in applying for this grant though, you will need to be quick – the deadline for the higher tier applications is 30 April.
How can we help?
We can’t give you any detailed advice on the grant – you can find out which projects are eligible and how to apply here. You can also contact the Rural Payments Agency for advice on:
