Local farms support those in need during the crisis

With a farming background himself, our MD has been trying to think of ways the farming community could support those most in need during the current crisis. With a network of local farming contacts and a fleet of vans at his disposal, he came up with the idea to provide help to a local food bank.

Food banks provide emergency food and support to those in poverty. Since the lockdown, it’s reported that the demand for food banks has soared sevenfold due to the sheer number of people now out of work.

To help the food banks, we are currently contacting local farms to see if they’d like to donate any fresh produce, which we will collect and deliver to the foodbank for them. For example, this could be potatoes, carrots, broccoli, eggs, strawberries, apples etc. The response so far has already been really positive.

If you are a local farm and would like to donate, then please let us know. We will come and collect the items from you and then drop them, along with other donations, to Trussell Trust Food Bank. Simply email to let us know at michelle.james@cotterillcivils.co.uk
