This year, instead of the usual secret santa, we decided to have a charity gift donation, to collect toys for the Toys 4 Birmingham campaign. This initiative was created by Thrive Together Birmingham, who help vulnerable children and young people in challenging circumstances.
Our marketing team headed down to Edgbaston Cricket Ground on Friday 15th December to drop off all of the gifts kindly donated by our colleagues. There were a wide range of goodies collected, for children aged 0-16. They were greeted by the friendly team in charge of this mammoth project, and got stuck in. Laura and Olivia helped to unload the goods, gather piles of gifts together and the most important job - made cups of tea!
There were over 12,000 gifts donated in total, which have all gone to the people who need it most this Christmas. The people that have been supported through this campaign include those in temporary accommodation, families affected by domestic abuse, homelessness and disability. Christmas can be an extraordinarily difficult time for those who cannot afford to buy gifts, and the donation from Thrive Together Birmingham ensures that as many children as possible wake up with one on Christmas Day.
We’d like to thank Louise, Emma and Fred from Thrive Together Birmingham for your support with this project. It has been a pleasure to be part of such an incredible cause.
At Cotterills, we are committed to playing our part in giving back to the community, and look to continue this next year. This year we have donated to a food bank, held a Macmillan coffee morning, pedalled away in our Bikeathlon and much more. When we all play our small part, a big difference can be made, and we look forward to making a difference within our community in 2024.
