Domestic Rain Water Harvesting
An underground storage tank connected to the roof water guttering system. This filters out leaves and debris, collects the rain water, and then pumps the water back on demand to non potable applications.
From 3000 litre small domestic to 1,000,000 litre capacity large commercial and agricultural applications.
In a domestic system this would be for:
- Toilet flushing
- Washing machines
- Garden watering systems
- Car washing
A typical below ground rainwater harvesting system comprises of the following components:
 |
KingspanWater polyethylene Underground Storage Tank suitable for 60m to 150m roof areas. Please note the ENV200KSW is manufactured in GRP. Suitable for pea shingle back fill in dry site conditions. (Note: for larger roof area suitable tanks are available) |
Other Fixture & Fittings
- Depth Sensor lies on the bottom of the tank. It measures depth of the water above it and will relay the information back to the main control panel. This activates the mains water supply when required and disables the pump when water levels in the tank are running low.
- Solenoid Valve (regulates the supply of mains water in the direct system)
- Tundish (provides the mandatory air gap in the direct system)

We can also supply our customers with a simple above ground system for garden irrigation. This would be one of our rainwater butts plumbed into your roof water down pipe. We sell varying capacity butts from 100 to 900 litres.
Depending on your water usage requirements, roof collection area and geographical location, we can design a rain water harvesting system for you.
We supply (and/or install) below and above ground rainwater harvesting systems tailored exactly to your needs.
