Land Drainage Headwalls

Land Drainage Headwalls

All drainage pipes discharging into an open water course should be fitted with a suitable headwall to protect and locate the outfall pipe and minimize erosion at the discharge point. Cotterill Civils supply a range of headwalls to suit all pipe sizes from 100mm up to 1800mm diameter.

The small sizes are made from GRC or Glass Reinforced Cement. This makes then conveniently lightweight and easy to install.

grc headwall

Small, general purpose, GRC headwalls. 100mm 300mm pipe sizes.

The larger pipe sizes and faster flowing water course applications are made from PCC or Pre Cast Concrete.

pcc headwall

300mm PCC headwall. Also 150mm 600mm twin wall pipe sizes.

We also supply a full range of standard or bespoke size vermin and debris gates to fit our headwalls. This prevents the ingress of unwanted animals or debris up the drain in high water situations.

vermin debri gate

Galvanised, mild steel vermin/debris gate. Also available in stainless steel.

Generally pre-cast headwalls can be installed at a fraction of the cost of in-situ structures and have the advantage that during major maintenance work they can be removed and refitted.
